KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Colonel Chester (Chet) Edwards
Colonel Edwards is a US. Navy Veteran (’66- ’72) whose service
included combat duty in Vietnam as an Assault Support Patrol Boat
Coxswain with the Mobile Riverine Force (‘68 to ’69). After the tragic
events of 9/11, Chet re-enlisted in the New York State Guard in 2003,
where he served until his retirement in 2018.
Chet is a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Ch 49 (V/P),
American Legion Post 90 (Post Service Officer), VFW Post 1156 and
the Knights of Columbus (Council 503 and Assembly 692) in
Westchester County, NY.
Chet is currently serving as a Veterans Advocate working with the
Westchester County Veterans Alliance, Inc. (Executive Director),
Hudson Valley Honor Flight (Board Member – Community Outreach)
and ProVetus, Inc. (Peer Mentor & Mentor Coordinator for the
Veterans Treatment Track of the Middletown City Court). He also
serves as a member of the Board of Visitors of the NYS Veterans
Home at Montrose and as the Deputy Representative for the Vietnam
Veterans of America with the Veteran Affairs Voluntary Services
(VAVS) of the Montrose VA Hospital.
After 30 plus years as a corporate financial executive and financial
consultant, Chet spent the last 11 years of his career as a New York
City Middle and High School Teacher and Dean and is now retired.
Colonel Edwards lives in Port Chester, NY with his wife, Mary, and is
the proud father of two daughters and the grandfather of two
granddaughters.
